 The Choir of St. Pauls


Established for over 100 years, the choir of St Paul’s. Withington, sing at the Sunday Morning Eucharist, Evensong and all major festivals throughout the year. There has been a long tradition of a high standard of music at St Paul’s which the choir enjoy continually improving upon. The repertoire is varied and ranges from Renaissance through to recently composed works. As well as providing the music for St Paul’s Church, the choir undertook many other performances recently including Handel’s Messiah, Faure’s Requiem and “Lights of Love” a Christmas service which raised money for Derian House Children's Hospice in a packed Blackburn Cathedral.

The choir provides a choral scholarship programme for ages 8 - 21 giving tuition in classical singing, rock and pop, jazz and musical theatre. The choir also runs the Royal Schools of Church Music “Voice for Life” programme for children and adults. For more information on choral and organ scholarships, please look on the scholarship page.
